Is a mentor right for me? Will it help my job search?

What is the difference between a consultation and a mock interview?

A consultation is a free flowing conversation with your mentor. It is structured according to your needs: you decide what you need to focus on, and your mentor will help you set out an action plan for your job search. Use our consultation guides as references if you need ideas of questions to ask your mentor. Some common themes for consultations are: resume overview and application strategy, list of target firms, ideas for extra-curricular activities/internships to strenghten background, practice of your elevator pitch, school application strategy, etc.

A mock interview simulates the real-life interviews you will soon experience. It is structured with a 30-min interview blending technical and behavioral questions, followed by a 30-min critique, feedback and weakness development session.

How do I get started?

1. Select your Mentor. You can browse our network of mentors and filter by industry or use your Mentor Match Engine to get a personalized recommendation. Feel free to reach out to Fanny (fanny@bluechipcareer.com) - she can assist you personally in selecting your mentor.
2. Complete Payment/Fill-out Consultation Questionnaire. You can make a secure payment through PayPal or with your credit/debit card. After your payment is complete, we will send you a Consultation Questionnaire in which you can give your mentor some background information on your career goals.
3. Schedule your Consultation. We will send out an introductory email to you and your mentor. He/she will contact you right away to schedule your session over the phone or video chat.

How much does this cost?

30-minute consultations are $69, and one-hour consultations are $99. Mock Interviews are $169. Our services come with a 100% money-back satisfaction guarantee. If you don’t find your consultation or mock interview helpful, we will provide an immediate, full refund.

How long does it take to schedule a consultation or mock interview?

The typical consultation is scheduled within 2-5 business days. If you need a last minute consultation or mock interview, select the express delivery option, and we will guarantee that your consultation or mock interview is completed within 48 hours or we’ll provide a full-refund.

Do mentors provide job leads?

Our mentors provide help with your overall job search strategy, which will include identifying companies that are a good fit for your background and interests. Oftentimes mentors will provide personal contacts at firms, but these contacts are neither guaranteed to come with your consultation nor to be expected.

Can I keep in touch with my mentor?

Of course! We love to see long-term mentoring relationships form between you and our mentors. Make sure to check back with us when you’d like to schedule a follow up consultation with your mentor - mentoring packages are a great way to set up multiple consultations over the course of a few weeks/months.

Can I have several mentors?

Yes! Having an established relationship with a mentor is very beneficial, but so is experiencing different styles of mentoring and getting to know professionals with different career paths. We’re happy to provide you with multiple mentor recommendations and help you connect with several mentors at any given time.
